Working on it

So, hi. Guess this isn't much of a blog post, but more of a report, i guess?

Anywho, though i know Scan2Go retired from airing a little while back, i'm still in episoe 13 right now, so i'm not that deep into it yet, but none the less, i love Scan2Go, so i'll do my best to make this wikia as good as it can be, so that if people need to go back to something specific, they can!

Anyways, i'm not qualified to make edits on important characters, such as Team JET, because it might be proven wrong later as i watch the series, but small tidbits of information, like the edit i made on Antares' page aout his name are all i can do unless appearance and personality portions need to be given and i am given permision to make such a large edit to a really i…

Warning about BOTH KlearGear.com and a new trend by some online stores!!

Hey!

I just watched a CNN.com news report at "Couple fined $3,500 for online review" and found it both interesting and enlightening. A couple wrote an honest, but negative, review and then 4 years later the company --Klear Gear -- "fined" them $3,500. When they didn't pay up, the company turned it over to a collection agency and dinged their credit history. When they went to buy a new car (using a loan), they couldn't get the loan.

More and more companies are doing this ... fining you when they don't like your review and then getting you to pay by saying it is a valid bill and turning it over to a collection agency. Of course, you can tell the agency it is not a valid bill during the 30 day validation period, but it is still on your credit h…

Sunday's Comcast home X1 visit and other thoughts

Hey again everyone,

The Comcast home tech did show up on Sunday and actually 30 minutes early, which is great! She was a wonderful person and provided us great information about the X1 and Comcast in general.

Unfortunately, the 2nd level person didn't leave any notes in the ticket he wrote and she had no clue as to why she was showing up. I explained to her what I remembered the 2nd level tech telling me and she wasn't sure what to do, but said she take and record general signal information.

As for the Mocha filters, they (also) were not in the ticket and she didn't have enough for us. After looking at the three X1 DVR hubs at our place, she agreed we need the Mocha filters. She called around talking to the techs on duty at the time and c…

Some people aren't doing much for Comcast's rep while others are great!

Today I met the best and worst of Comcast employees!

Background

It all started around 16:20 to 16:30 CDT, when I got an automated phone call from Comcast. The message said the service interruption in the area was over and the system was cancelling any home visit. If the problem continued, please call 800-COMCAST.

I decided to 1-800-COMCAST, as I did have an home visit scheduled for Sunday, September 8, 2013 between 17:00 and 19:00. I felt there were two reasons the home visit should go on ahead:

  1. A level 2 tech person is the person who scheduled the visit because he wanted an home tech to run some specific tests for him. The signals coming from the box are not normal or corrupted by the length of the line to our home. (We live towards the end o…

Comcast 2nd level X1 support now the one (it seems) who is scheduling home visits

I'm not sure what is up with Comcast, but today I got a call from a person on the Comcast tier 2 X1 support team. He wanted to arrange an home visit to have someone check out one of our X1 DVR hubs. It isn't mine but the one in bedroom 2. He also (upon my request) going to have the X1 filters installed on each of the individual boxes.

As for when they're coming, well, Sunday September 8, 2013 between 17:00 and 19:00 CDT. Yeah, I didn't know Comcast home techs worked on Sunday. In the past I had a Sunday visit, but they never showed up on Sunday, but instead rescheduled. Time will tell the tale, as will this blog what occurs.

As always take care and I hope we get to see Scan2Go soon again in English! :-)

Saw an ad for Netflix and the Google Chromecast . . .

I'm hoping we get to see how Scan2Go ends before it hits Netflix, but hey, what matters is seeing how it ends. I've heard so many different things, I'm not sure what is true and what is not true. I really dislike what Cartoon Network is doing to Scan2Go fans. It is very disrespectful. I mean how expensive can it be to show us the final episodes (I'm assuming they're already translated).

What got me thinking was an advertisement for both Netflix and the Google Chromecast device. At first I was wondering why on the Chromecast device, but then realized it would go great with hotel rooms with HDTV units, but you can't access their apps or they're not connected to the net.

Why don't I see it good for homes? Well, I thought, most HDTV coming…

While hanging out in another bedroom, I discovered . . .

Late last night, I was hanging out in another bedroom that has its own X1 DVR. As I couldn't watch my show, I decided to watch two programs, but discovered I couldn't get the DVR to start recording them. It acted as it if was already recording them. Yet, this wasn't the case. Yes, my X1 (Master Bedroom) was recording it, but not that unit (Bedroom 2).

It should be possible for two X1 DVR hubs units to record the same program! Why? You can't play back recording on a different hub, at least we haven't been able to do it, yet. What happens is you get the big DVR logo and then nothing.

I've noticed when calling 800-COMCAST for the X1 . . .

I'm now noticing when calling 800-COMCAST for the X1, they're opening tickets to level 2. They also say level 2 will only call if they have questions, thus you may never hear back. The ticket therefor might close with out your knowing about it in 72 hours.

My concern is they'll close the tickets and the problems will continue. Some of the level 1 people I get do signal analysis on my line and they report different issues with some signal being low, other high, other reporting outages over time.

Given the original reason for the X1 installation was to try and fix a grey (legacy) box issue with the guide and its signal . . . On the other hand, when home tech comes out they find the line passes their tests.

OH! Wait! Maybe the tests don't cov…

Latest on Comcast X1 . . .

A second level tech contacted me asking we rename our X1 DVR units using the custom feature. He wasn't happy the replaced X1 DVR units used the same names as the original units. While I was happy to rename them for him, I feel it isn't fair (in the long run) to require a new name with each replacement.

Why?

Comcast provides a list of names based upon locations, such as "Master Bedroom," "Living Room," "Family Room," "Bedroom," "Media Room," "Den," and "Guest Room." This gives us the impression names are location based, which does make sense. If replacing an unit in a location means needing a new name each and every time, why use names based upon location? After all the location is NOT changing, is it?

My thought / suggestion is if the name…

Comcast home visit (last day of August 2013)

Today, a Comcast home tech visited and installed an Anywhere or Any room filter. He said the issues we were having with OnDemand, missing videos, recordings not starting, recordings getting deleted and even erased was because of the missing filter. Turns out my thought of another account getting into my X1 was / is correct.

I asked why the situation affect my X1 and not the other two. He said it was because mine is first on both the physical line into our home and on the account.

I asked him about possible hackers (now or in the future) and he said, he never thought about it, but yeah, given this experience hacking the X1 might be possible. You'd have to get past the filter, but . . . of course some people don't have them, too. (Such as…

Comcast X1 DVR -- The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.

As Scan2Go is up in the air, I thought I'd start blogging about other TV issues in my life. Earlier in this blog I mentioned Comcast installed the X1 DVR (hub) at my home because of line issues with the grey (legacy) DVR units. The X1 fixed the grey (legacy) issue with the guide loading, but the X1 hasn't been working 100% or even close to 100%. Our boxes fail to record, doesn't allow us to watch OnDemand videos, see closed captioning, and several other issues.

I thought I'd start talking about my experiences. Why? Well, I'm told when something is causing you stress it can help to talk about it or even just write about it. What I find is true sometime writing about an issue can help you see solutions you might otherwise miss.

Today I spoke wit…

Finally home . . . well, actually got home

I got home the same day I wrote my earlier blog about being on I-65. We got home around midnight CDT and thus were really tired and skipped blogging for a day. I still don't get blogging, honestly and thus don't do Facebook. I do miss being able to comment on certain articles, but such is life, right? What is it about telling everyone, everything that is so interesting?  And yeah, . . .  I'm serious.

No sign yet of the episode that was to appear on August 3, 2013. If you hear or see something, please, let us know.

Guess the title says it all. I haven't seen on Comcast nor Cartoon Network the next episode (originally scheduled for 8/3). I find it interesting, though, Comcast has Scan2Go on the schedule for 8/10 instead of Teen Titan. Of course, they say they only show the data they get from TV Guide and/or Cartoon Network.

We'll just have to wait and see where and when we get to see the final episodes.

BTW, I still would love as many details as people know about the final episodes.

In the Snow of Love Falls Upon the Desert episode, Shiro Sutherland thinks he saw his Mother, but he never finds her. We learn a little more about him and why his Mother (and her dog/wolf) left him. The reason has something to do with their tribe and a requirement concern…

Found a list of the English titles for the remaining episodes . . .

I suspect there is hope we'll (in the end) get to see the English Scan2Go episodes. I found a website associated with Comcast and Cartoon Network with the titles for all the episodes. My plan is to update the wiki and TV.com with the information, but I won't be able to do so immediately. I'm going to be busy for the next week to 10 days because of personal and job issues. Once I get back to having free time in my life, I'll update the site. Hopefully, by then too, there will be more posted episodes (somewhere on the net, such as Comcast).

Some Good News for Comcast XFinity OnDemand Account Holders

While looking at upcoming episodes for various series, I noticed the Comcast X1 Guide shows an upcoming Scan2Go episode. Of course, it is most likely a mistake, but then as I looked into more of what Comcast and others know I found episode 47 (Snow of Love Falls Upon the Desert) is available for those with a Comcast XFinity OnDemand account. I put the link on the front / main page (at least it works for me when using Internet Explorer 10 and Firefox 19.0b).

I'll update this blog and wiki as I get more information and time, such as the episode summary.

Question / Thought: Any foreign language version of Scan2Go (at least the last few episodes) with English subtitles?

To those who read this blog, I'd like to ask two things of you.

  1. Can you, please, keep an eye out for any version of Scan2Go (especially the last few episodes) with English subtitles?
  2. Keep an eye out for recaps, etc of the last few episode that goes into the details of those episodes. I'm OK knowing now what is going to happen / how it turns out given Cartoon Network might wait for the Scan2Go DVD / Blu-Ray or might never release the English language translation.
  3. Think of any other way we might learn how the series turns out.

Honestly, I thought Scan2Go was doing well for its time slot at 06:00 CDT on Saturday. Sigh . . .

Scan2Go Cancelled in America

Sadly, Scan2Go is cancelled in America to to low ratings and viewings. I am going to miss it, and want to see the last few episodes. However, Malaysia has aired the last few episodes. Tomorrow is the day (Saturday, July 27, 2013) to see if Cartoon Network releases the next English episode on their website

With Cartoon Network no longer showing episodes of Scan2Go on its broadcast channel, our only hope to see how the season and/or the series ends is to watch it on another source. Last week when they didn't show it on Saturday, July 20, 2013 Cartoon Network did release the a video copy on their website. Our hope is they'll release the next episode this coming Saturday (tomorrow, July 27, 2013). Only time will tell the tale and hopefully we'll get to see how it all ends.

Sigh, its just what is releasing Scan2Go is that really distasteful version of Teen Titans (Teen Titans Go!). I apologize to everyone (even those at Cartoon Network, who love / enjoy the newest version of the Teen Titans. Honestly, it grates on my nerves similar to fingernai…

Anyone out there (now or in the future, well, my future, your present) know . . .

I know Scan2Go completed its run already in some countries. Thus I'm hoping someone from one of those countries who also knows English (or knows someone who can translate) will be willing to help fill in the blanks. Of course, if we knew what Cartoon Network planned to do with the few remaining episodes of Scan2Go it would be helpful. Right now, though, anything is possible so it being done without finishing the series / season is as possible as, well, whatever.

Yeah, OK, I've been and am continuing to be hard on Cartoon Network and I do admit not only doing it but realizing I'm doing and continuing to be hard on the company. Why? Simple, they haven't been easy on us, the viewers, the supporters, and those using our time and money to p…

How we get to finish this wiki about Scan2Go English version. If not with Cartoon Network maybe another network will pick it up . . .

As the title says, I hope we get to see how Scan2Go ends and what happens. Will Professor Zero come back? Will Earth survive? What will happen with Team J.E.T.? What about the other Gurao trained racers? Will they all live the coming attack or will they disappear like Professor Zero, maybe forever?

These and many other questions remain! Please, I hope someone, if not Cartoon Network will broadcast the ending of Scan2Go!! Also if Cartoon Network isn't going to finish Scan2Go, what does this mean for a Season 2??

Confirmation today Scan2Go is no longer being shown on Cartoon Network

Today I a message telling me Cartoon Network is now longer showing Scan2Go on it broadcast channels and cancelled all future episodes. I'm surprised considering there are only seven episodes left to show. After spending 45 weeks getting people ready for the ending, Cartoon Network is going to kill the series (from what I can tell).

It is possible Cartoon Network may show the series on its website or might never release the English language episodes.

What I find really strange is the rating have been decent, especially given the time of day. Of course, the fact they never rebroadcasted an episode (as they do with so many other series) worried me from the start.

Looking for a Wifi Bridge to cover a large area (two homes, garage, and art studio).

Sometime later this year I'll be needing to cover a large area with a Wifi signal (e.g. 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz, as well as all the letters a, b, n, etc.). My thought is to go with a bridge, as I already have a router, switches, hubs, etc.

Anyone know what is up at Cartoon Network!?

Anyone know what is up at Cartoon Network and they're not showing episode 46?! It would be very different if they had the series on the schedule more than once a week. As it is those of us using Closed Captioning for the Hearing Impaired are, well, out of luck!

Yes, the episode is on the Cartoon Network website, but the CC won't enable. So, much for Cartoon Network being handicap friendly (well in all cases). They do broadcast a lot of stuff with CC enabled.

Anyway, anyone know what's up over there at CN?

Yesterday's X1 problem continues today even after help from the 800-COM-CAST support people

The problem from yesterday continues today. From what I can tell the problem starts up from my attempts to pause at a specific location. I'll keep trying and trying to get the location by using the play/pause, forward, backward, slow forward, slow reverse, and other buttons in combination. After awhile the unit just stops working properly and you have to reboot and even that is starting to fail.

The people at 800-COM-CAST sent down a reboot signal and the device got stuck doing something. AT least the area where the clock is was a series of words and symbols (what looked like symbols and not words) for over 7 hours. Basically, when I went to bed the unit was in this condition and when I woke up it was there too. In the end, I simply u…

Comcat X1 DVR won't stop kind of playing . . .

We're having a new problem with our Comcast X1 DVR. This time around the playback is jerky (like skipping several frames out of each second of playback). Hi!

Given Scan2Go takes place in space (e.g. other planets, solar systems, etc), I thought it might be nice to start a discussion on photographs of objects found in outer space.  On Flickr I found three interesting accounts:  AstroChuck, NASA (actually two NASA accounts), and ESA (European Space Administration).

Over time, I hope to discuss this in deepth, but for now was wondering what sources other people use and/or do you even look for photography of space?

Take care!

What's up doc?

What's up?  Still working on the "paper" / "letter" about the X1 and XR2 . . .  A Comcast supervisor did stop by to help me out today in learning about the X1 and to install some filters.  Lots of the issues remain, but he did fix the issue where the X1 hung, when playing back recordings on a different X1 unit.  The filters make the other X1 units look to be offline for playback, but they still see the recordings on the other two X1 DVR units.

New issue now, though, I deleted and erased 10 hours of HDTV and the recording % used on my X1 continued to show 17% (it never went down). I checked to see if there were new recordings during the day to offset the deletes and erases, but there were none. I'm not sure why deleting and erasing 10 hour…

Sigh, it shouldn't be a big deal, but ......

On the Scan2Go badges, I was on day 91/100 and I missed a day because of a doctor visit and then being put to bed when I got home.  Sigh . . . I missed a day of coming here and writing something, so . . .I'm back down to 1/100.  I say it shouldn't matter and it really doesn't, as I come here to improve the this wiki, but OK, it does hurt that 91 days of work starts over. Maybe, just maybe the requirements could allow for missing say one day. Why? We wouldn't want to be responsible for someone putting the wiki and/or badges ahead of their health. Looking forward to tomorrow's Scan2Go episode. I just hope the X1 really works!

Last night I went to watch an episode the Comcast X1 says it recorded the problem is on playback it starts at 58 minutes 55 seconds. Comcast has been talking to me about the issue and even did a signal reset that took 45+ minutes, but I still can't see the episode. Bottom line the error was either at the time of recording or the playback.

Another issue . . .well, I have 20 of them thus far and 2 of them got fixed. Maybe I should start listing them in these blogs in case anyone wants to know about the Comcast X1. Yeah, why not, but not today . . .

Comcast X1 DVR and the X2 Remote - the good, the bag, and the ugly

Today Comcast installed three (3) xfinity X1 DVR units (500 GB; cloud based) at my home because for whatever reason the Gray units won't work at the apartment correctly. The TV Guide takes up to 2 weeks to download completely (10 - 14 day) for every channel. The hope was the X1 would solve the issue and it did!!!  The guide has not worked since 2009 on any of our DVR units. This is the really great good news and to have the guide available is so cool and wonderful.

What is the bad and ugly?  The X1 has certain shortages compared to the grey DVR boxes:

  1. The dual HDMI ports do not work.  The grey DVR box had an HDMI port and it worked fine on my Sony HDTV.  I even got the 3D wroking and would watch 3D several times a week.  The installer couldn't …

Sigh, one downside to growing up . . .

OK! There are lots of advantages to growing up, especially when you're a teenager! There are also some downsides, which are knocking at my door. Family obligations when parents and other loved ones get to that time in their lives we're all heading towards . . our final days.

What has me so excited? In Firefox (and maybe other browsers) is the ability to save cookies for:

  • As long as the cookie requests
  • For this session only
  • Deny saving / accepting the cookie at all.

You can set this behavior up by default for all cookies or, as I do, decide as the cookie requests come into the browser.

OK, that's it. Ah, you're say, why is this so cool!?

Some websites limit your usage per day or I should say usage over a period of time, whether that be per day, hour, week, minute, etc. There are at least two ways to perform this limit:

  1. At th…

The Scan2Go Resource Center is now open!! Well, kind of :-)

The Scan2Go Resource Center is now open for your additions and updates! Well kind of open, as I don't have the entire structure in place just the first of at least eight more articles. The idea is to split the resource center into two main groups (Internet and Physical world) and then split each of those into at least three areas (TV series, Games & Toys, and Others/Misc).

Originally the idea was to have one large article, but it would become very big, very quickly and not very useful because of its size. Splitting it into at least 6 lower level articles that may themselves have own child articles seems to best way to go in the long term. Yes, in the short term it will be very bare, but let's think long term, OK?

Well, till tomorrow!

P.S. …

The unfortunate end to season 1 is in sight, sigh!!

Sigh!! Unfortunately for all of us the end to the first season of Scan2Go is upon us. Yes, it isn't going to happen for several more episodes, but one can see the pinhole point of light at the end of the tunnel. When does the tunnel end? If Cartoon Network stays on its current schedule, the last new episode of season one will appear on August 31, 2013 at 06:00 CDT. It means we have only .

There will still be LOTS of work to do on this Scan2Go Wiki after this date on season one, but the story telling aspect of Scan2Go will be over (at least on TV).

Anyone know of website having Scan2Go fan fiction, slash, any books (physical or ebooks), or any other media generating Scan2Go stories about Team J.E.T. or the Scan2Go Univ…

Welcome to July 2013!!

HI and welcome to July 2013!

Unfortunately, a family friend didn't get to see it ring in, as he died yesterday (June 30, 2013 at around 17:30 EDT) in the city of my conception, Indianapolis, IN, USA. (Ah, an interesting fact, I was born and raised in a city ending in "polis," and also conceived in a city ending in "polis," too. Just saw this coincidence now for the first time.

Anyway, I'm sorry to say we lost him to prostate cancer, sigh! R.I.P to the Rev. Michael Strange. May you find peace in the next life.

Two great things!!!!

WOW!! Did you watch the race between Kaz Gordon and Nicol on the Galactic Internet Video system?!! WOW!! Nicol was a robot, but Kaz Gordon still won!! It's so cool the Final Grand Prix is coming to Earth!!

I wonder has it every happened where a planet goes in just one season from entering its first and only Scan2Go team to having both:

  • The Final Grand Prix hosted by the planet, plus
  • All the team members qualify for the Final Grand Prix???

I just hope that Ryu Kaizel guy doesn't come to Earth and do what he did to the Ditona Circuit here to our planet!! Then again Kaz Gordon wasn't there at Ditona Circuit when Ryu Kaizel attacked. Yet / on the other hand Professor Zero was there and he's one of the best, if not the best, active racer. Of co…
